SINCE EVERYONE EVER IS DOING IT.

You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out. (:

1. FIRST NAME
Laura. I don't actually know what to say about my name. It's ... just my name? I don't think it really says anything about me. Am I a 'Laura'? "The girl's name Laura \la(u)-ra\ is pronounced LAW-rah, LOR-ah. It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "the bay, or laurel plant". In classical times, a crown was made from the leaves of the bay laurel for heroes or victors as a symbol of honor and victory." Did my parents pick it for the meaning? No. My Dad wanted to call me 'Michaela' and my Mum hated the name, so they went with 'Laura'. My Mum often calls me 'Looby-loo' (no, IDK where that comes from), and a family friend did the same when I was growing up, and sometimes still does.

2. AGE
20. I turned so on 20 July. A date which has, in its past, experienced a Moon landing, a landing on Mars, the death of Bruce Lee and it's a birthday I share with various celebrities I have no idea about :|

3. LOCATION
Currently, Leeds, United Kingdom. It's where I go to university. It's an industrial city up north. Look! Leeds!. It's kind of an old city, kind of pretty in places, but mostly when the bin men aren't on strike.

In terms of home, though, that would be Dorset, UK. Right down on the south coast (and I mean right down). It's pretty, if not incredibly boring. Rather (that place is called OLD HARRY ROCKS) pretty, huh? Apparently that second photo is IN my home town. Area. Somewhere. I DON'T KNOW. It's off the little river somewhere :| But it really is a pretty place.

This eventually turns into complete tl;dr about my life and personality )

ALSO. EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT AMERICAN AND DON'T CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING--

This is more of a request than an actual 'HELP ME' post, and mostly directed at those of you in Japan at the moment.

Basically, for my Religion in Japan course, we have to give a seminar and write a 6000 word short dissertation. Having just had my tutorial with Dr. T, I've decided to do mine on The image Catholicism in Japanese media. So, basically, I was wondering, if any of you lovelies see something in the news, newspaper, magazines, whatever (and you remember -- don't go out of your way /laugh), and it has something to do with Catholicism, could you let me know? I'm mostly asking in case I miss something haaa

Thank you ♥ ♥ ♥

So, I was quite aware that this year's third years (us) had a harder textbook than last year's. That was cool, I thought.

And then I found out it's the same textbook that the fourth years are using.

And we're only a chapter behind them :|

Something seems wrong with that picture...

So! Anyone else been watching Tokyo Dogs?

Actually, it sounds like a lot of people are going home for reading week, including my housemate who's going home friday - sunday ghdjkh. I'M GOING TO BE ALL ALONE FOR A WEEK

I actually have no words for how indescribably angry I am right now. My flist has heard my various stories of financial woe relating to my year abroad in Japan and the unfortunate situation that those of us who ended up in the dormitory faced.

I've just been speaking with a classmate:

D: it's about Konan, I won't tell you if you don't want to know, but remember once you know there's no 'undo button'
Me: ...go on
D: this year everyone (45 ryuugakusei) got a homestay.
Me: yeah I heard
D: that's not all. To quote a mate of mine who's there this year ...
"and all the people from leeds ended up getting JASSO as well, pretty much everyone out of the 45 ryuugakusei got jasso because they apparently had loads left over this year"
Me: jgifrkhksz WHAT THE FUCK
D: it's the "left over this year" part that made me wretch and almost lose it over my laptop

I actually have NO WORDS. If they had helped us dorm kids even a LITTLE more than they had, I would not have had to have my PARENTS bail me out of having NO MONEY because my student loan didn't cover the cost of my dormitory and LIVING EXPENSES for the year -- JASSO, by the way, is 80,000 yen a month (~$400USD LOL $800, NOT 400. Thinking in GBP Sterling, writing in dollars.) plus an 80,000 yen relocation reimbursement on arrival.

I am genuinely at a loss for words and almost CRYING with anger.

so, I just came across this band (己龍/Kiryuu) and have been listening to their music. This is the preview for the PV for their most recent single (月ノ姫/Tsuki no hime). Even though this doesn't look to be their best song, for some reason, I love the look of the PV. It has the kind of feel of older VK and it actually reminds me of a band I can't place right now. Some kind of cross between La'Mule and really earlier 12012, perhaps? With a sprinkling of REALLY EARLY Kagrra, (although I suppose Crow would be more accurate in that, huh) <- image wise, not sound wise. I'm not really sure who I'd compare them to sound wise, I haven't paid enough attention to VK in such a long time to be able to. Although there's definitely someone the sound reminds me of 8| -- Particularly this song, 愛シクモ切ナイ仄甘ク喘グ其ノ声ヲ・・・ (itoshiku mo setsunai hono amaku aegu sono koe wo...). Whoever uploaded it to youtube typo'ed the title several times).

It is now almost 7pm.

I am wearing gyaru make up for NO REASON AT ALL. sob this is my life

And it's not even as if the photos turned out that well due to crap lighting and phone!photos 8|

Although, looking through my photobucket, I really miss the days when my hair was a decent length. Growing it is such a pain /whine

Right now, I'm enjoying a rather large Vidoll kick. I really need to catch up with their stuff. When I saw them at Shibuya-AX last year, I knew like... none of their new stuff, and only sort of!remebered stuff from their first major album WHICH I CAN'T REMEMBER THE TITLE OF RIGHT NOW.

Aaah, Jui sings so well *A* And I only just realised how completely hilarious the lyrics to @PEKO-CRASH-TRAP are. Yes, I am that lame.

/watches as no-one on her flist really cares about Vidoll

sob i don't have any vidoll on my phone or my PSP

Since everyone's doing it and apparently I succumb to peer pressure--

The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other.

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Aah, I'm tired. I need to sleep more, but I kind of. Suck at that whole thing.

Although, I feel nice and accomplished today. Went to class (obvs.), came home, re-uploaded some scans, translated some stuff, finished that app.

SO NOT REALLY VERY ACCOMPLISHED OVERALL. But that's besides the point 8|

Someone from my hometown was on "how clean is your house". This makes me ashamed. I didn't recognise him, though. BY THE WAY, it should me explained that my hometown is the smallest place ever. If you so happen to be curious/want to stalk where I am not. And aaw, it has a pretty photo. It's very boring, but kind of pretty. Including that man's house now, too, apparently.

ALSO. Who on my flist reads PH? I read the raws for chapter 42 the other day and HNNNN. SOB.

EDIT: ffffff and by PH I mean Pandora Hearts way to go self

Aah, so I'm back from MUCC/trip to Reading.

MUCC was, of course, fantastic. I don't think that needs to be said, really? Except, aaah, I (and [info]ration!!) were. Kind of. Above the average age sob. GCSEs, A-LEVELs. I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER MY GCSEs.

Partially because I fail at conversation and partially because I had to go into a queue of FIVE, I didn't get that much chance to talk to [info]ration :( (The queue of five was because I was collecting my ticket from the box office, whereas apparently EVERYONE ELSE had had theirs posted to them). Although, the queue of five did have one girl, a first year studying Japanese at SOAS, who I chatted with before the separate queues (she turned out to be a fan of Hime Ichigo, too), and then, surprisingly, two first years studying Japanese at Leeds! Shocking. And, one of them (ha, I didn't get their names :|) turned out to be a huge Vidoll fan, so we talked about that for a while, and then talked about year abroad stuff since they'll be going next year and stuff. Vidoll!fan wants to go to Konan Daigaku, so I talked about my experiences and the awesome of Osaka.

--MUCC never stop being adorable. I kind of adore Satochi, ok. And the whole band. But. And Tatsurou's Engrish never stops being amazing. "WE COME FROM JAPAN". Yes, yes, we are aware of that. You told us that back in 2007, too. And Miya gjkdlh

And they played Libra. And ryuusei. Two of my favourite songs aaaah. And a lot of the new album but l-lol I'm not as familiar with that as I should be :|

...[info]ration is awesome B.T.W
